Welcome to Sharon Baptist Academy. We have been serving the community since 2001 with pre-K through 12th grade. We are proud to offer our community an alternative to public high school. We have added an online component to our academy to serve our 9th through 12th graders. We will be offering a challenging high school curriculum that includes dual-credit courses to jump start their college careers.
The mission of Sharon Baptist Academy is to provide our students with an excellent education in a Christ-centered environment. The addition of our online academy will allow us to offer this quality education to our students all the through high school.
The emblem of Sharon Baptist Academy is taken from the Bible. Sharon was
the valley where Solomon’s herd was kept. There grew a rare flower known as
the Rose of Sharon. The coming of the Messiah was referred to as The Rose of
Sharon because of the joy, beauty, and excellence He would bring to our lives.
As Jesus hung on the cross to save our sins, so the rose hangs on a cross
representing Jesus in our lives. Our motto, “Study to show thyself approved, a
worker which needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II
Timothy 2:15 is strategically placed upon the Bible. Placed in the oval
surrounding our symbol is the Academy Name and the year we were
established, 2001.
Beginning on September 24th, the mobile library will visit our school once a month on a Friday. Also, with your library card you can log into the library web site for free, one-on-one, on-line tutoring. To learn more, go to their web site at http://www.wbr.lib.la.us. |
